Tuesday Briefing special edition
BIG STEP FORWARD

THANKS again for you wonderful prayers.
Progress is steady.
There are many new documents on the web site for you to read.
And you are invited to send me your comments, suggestions and questions.
The Holy Spirit led me back to some documents that I began years ago.
There was a year when I was on disability.
I was recovering from a near-death hit and run accident.
I
My bills were paid as I attended community college.
There I learned about basic computer softwares and web publishing.
I spend untold hours in the school’s computer lab.
One of the projects I worked on then has been updated.
I have prayed for wisdom, insight and understanding over the years.
I have asked others to request these for me.
God has been faithful to answers these prayers.
What you find on the OSU web site is just a part of what is in my files.
During that season God gave me some important management concepts.
These relate both to the emerging ministry as well as any other organization.
Note that God has sometimes rapidly raised up Christian organizations.
Some churches, parachurch organizations and mission agencies that grew fast.
In less then twenty years they went from zero to world known.
Every year I meet those that are responding to the call of God on their life.
Like me when they pray hard and have no doubt – God gives a HUGE vision.
But what kinds of growth phases can they pray about and prepare for today?
The names of the phases are

Initial Volunteer Teams
Critical Mass
Bandwagon
Momentum
Reproduce
This provides me with a track to run on.
Such God-given guidance is a blessing.
It will be used as I pioneer the frontiers that God has been pointing me to for decades.
This can inform your prayers.
Also this can give a way for advisors to participate.
Let me warn you now that this language is rather ideal, grand and corporate.
Most of my language used in Tuesday briefing has been like a letter to a friend.
Here I am seeking to communicate with business owners and executive managers.
They need to know that I can talk their language.
I can set forth a HUGE vision that is compelling.
And I have the sketch of an initial game plan to get the job done.
Plus a large part of the start up fund raising goal will go to hire consultants.
I am smart enough to know that I will need an abundance of advisors to do this well.
The dozens of fund raising seminars I have attended have a central message.
There are wealthy people who will give large sums for capitol campaigns.
They will fund the infrastructure if they are sure that it will pay for itself later.
Thus that is why I am sketching out this long-term Big Picture to appeal to them.
Their contributions will help build the interactive web site that will pay its own way.
Kindly bear with me as I continue to add yet more text to the web site.
I LOVE to write, writing is one of my strengths and God-given talents.
It is also necessary to have this text base as foundation for what comes later.
Business people want key parts documented.
Soon audio will be added to the site.
And Power Point slide shows will be soon too.
Video will come eventually.
Video takes up lots of storage space on the web site.
Renting storage space is a big consideration in the early days.
Not every home computer can see video well yet.
During the coming months and years both sides of the video equation will improve.
NEXT
My next step is to produce a promotional video.
This will have both a short and long version.
I hope to have something ready for the noon lunch on Tuesday 11-18.

TUESDAY BRIEFING

COMPLETED
1. Left credit card case with ID at a restaurant today. Thankfully cashier called. May God keep these cards safe.
2. Launched the website for OSU just before midnight on Friday 11-7-03.
3. Exhausted after the web site launch and rested well over the weekend.
4. Today added text to most of the main web pages that had none.
5. Received the new business cards today. But there was a typo that was my fault. Will reorder and more than triple check the online copy at Vista Print www.vistaprint.com
CURRENT
A. Need to most carefully monitor the cash flow for the next few weeks.
B. Preparing a promotional video for the new ministry. It will begin with a short version of less than 15 minutes. Then after a pause, there will be a long version.
C. Promotional video will be based on a Power Point slide show that I can share with a group or individual. This will be a simple summary of what is on the web site and other Power Point slide shows that I have already made. May God guide and anoint this work.
UPCOMING
i. Add samples of the audio messages to the OSU web site.
ii. Sooner than later figure how to present both Power Point slides and audio over the web. This will help to enroll supporters for OSU and it will lead to ways for the Bible teachers to harness the web technology.
iii. Need to FOCUS on planning and creating all the parts for an effective fund raising system. From finding new prospect to serving regular donors.
iv. Need to make lists of best donor prospects that I already know personally and those key people who can network me together with donors.
v. Need to pray with the men I have invited to be on the initial board of directors. May God clearly guide them to join the board or not.
vi. Will file to become a nonprofit corporation in Texas soon. May that go smoothly.
vii. Let us knock for God to open the doors to present the vision for OSU to individuals and groups. May God prepare their hearts.

The season feels like I am designing and building a marina. There is no one right way to create a marina. But some how the people on land need to get on water and visa versa. Likewise the OSU web site stands in the gap between cyber space and physical space. The challenge is to make there passage back and forth smooth and easy.
RESOURCES
Attached you will find a pair of half-page flyers that you can down load and then print out. Or after you download it, then you can send it as an attachment. This is just the first promotional flyer. Later there will be other promotional flyers on the OSU web site that you can use to invite others to consider OSU by going to the web site. Those flyers will have fewer words and zero in on just one benefit.

WOW have you heard about The Call. Young people will be in the Cotton Bowl stadium from 7 am to 7 pm on November the 29th. This is the 7th and last of these events in the nation. It is not a concert or about teaching. It is prayer and fasting. Admission is free. Here is the web site www.thecalltexas.com
Here is away to create some custom Christmas cards for your family members and close friends. Go to Vista Print www.vistaprint.com This maybe too costly for all those you send Christmas cards to, but what about a dozen or two dozen?
Christmas is coming and here is a way to fund some of your gifts. Gather the book and other things you no longer need and take them to Half Price Books or Paperback Plus at 6115 La Vista in east Dallas. Exchange these unwanted items for Christmas gifts and/or cash. Also pray for me as I plan to set up an account at these locations so that such items can go toward credit Christian books for the homeless. These resources would be given out by SOUL Ministries on Sunday mornings 6:30 to 8:00 am downtown Dallas. The head of this ministry has a heart to provide the homeless people with books that offer basic Bible lessons and Bible study aids. Hey they have PLENTY of time to read. Many want these materials. Maybe we can work out a way for you to pass you unwanted concordances, Bible dictionaries and other Christian books to me so I can give them away on Sundays. Either way, you can know that the extra stuff around you can become blessings for others.
