MOVING FORWARD
12-6-03
God continues to meet my needs right on time.
I do not know before how He will do it.
So the issue returns to simple trusting obedience as I follow Jesus.
I do not follow Jesus perfectly.
I stumble and fumble along this pilgrim path.
Internally I quit sometimes.
It NEVER gets back to my works.
It ALWAYS gets back to His faithfulness, grace and goodness.
God began this good work in me.
He will finish it.
The same is true of you.
This is not lazy fatalism.
I am not hiding behind the sovereignty of God.
I have real responsibility before a holy and perfect God.
But let us recall that the Christian life is IMPOSSIBLE apart from the Holy Spirit.
Like Jonah, God’s will shall be done, it is better to obey sooner than later.
MEETING
The meeting with the missions pastor on this WED 12-10 is very important.
It is important in my relationship with this mega church.
But on another note, it is my first face-to-face presentation to a stranger.
At last I am getting into motion.
Procrastination, perfection and hyper-preparation are taking aback seat.
I could pray, plan and prepare for the next three years.
At this point I need to just step out and start to move forward.
Like launching the web site, I have hesitated repeatedly.
I need to accept that the face-to-face presentation is also a work-in-progress.
I will make improvement based on EXPERIENCE.
TOOLS
When I see the man I want to have a few tools with me.
1. Small flip chart with the visual aids for the introductory message
2. Printed proposal that is a like a user friendly business plan
3. A video that gives the whole story.
After I have these tools and the initial experience there are MANY more to meet.
I ALREADY have a long list of people to go show and tell.
I ALSO have a list of key people that can introduce me to key people.
I will be braking the inertia and moving from zero to some motion.
As a part of this process I have committed to FINALLY make the first video on SAT.
On 12-6 I will shoot the initial video in my apartment.
I have borrowed the camera and data projector.
I wish to improve the Power Point show before I shoot.
It will be LONG yet it will be COMPLETE.
At some point I will slice it up and put in on a DVD with a topic per chapter.
The print presentation is moving along too.
God blessed me by providing a template that I am adapting.
This uses seven key questions in a FAQ format to give an overview.
Pray for that to be ready on WED at 2 PM too.

I am in the process of seeking advisors.
I especially seek those with the following backgrounds.
Strategic planning
Project management
Curriculum design
Fund raising
Web development
I have set up a blog as a way for us to begin to collaborate.

Instead he let the needs be known and trusted God to supply.

TUESDAY BRIEFING
12-2-03
ALL glory to God in Jesus Name!
May peace and grace from Jesus be yours in abundance.
May this holiday season have enough rest for you.
May God reveal to you more about His only Son this Christmas.

COMPLETED
1. Thanksgiving Day was wonderful. A large church in north Dallas has been in partnership with a Christian rehab house in South Dallas. Together they fed more than 1,000 by bringing busloads to a church near Fair Park. It is rare and lovely to see blacks and whites working together in harmony. I brought cases of the gospel of John that were distributed. Much of the time I worked at the beverage station brewing coffee and filling pitchers of iced tea and water. Those who ate the big meal were very thankful.
2. Ate a whole pumpkin pie for about 4th year in a row on Thanksgiving Day from midnight to midnight. That si my favorite holiday food. Too often I had little room for it so I put it FIRST and had less room for other.
3. God led me back to book that is helping me prepare a SHORT presentation of the ministry. Scott Morton’s Funding Your Ministry. He taught the Navigators for years. His book was made into a two day intensive training seminar called Boot Camp. God used me with the Dean of students of the seminary and the rep form Boot Camp to bring it to campus this coming January.
4. I need the Boot Camp Bible Study and system to give me guidance.
5. BEST prayer times in memory. God has been faithful to draw close to me as I drew close to Him. I have felt a more intimate communion with God Father than I can ever recall in the prayer closet. Unfortunately it has taken major financial pressure to bring this about.
CURRENT
A. A filling fell out of a key tooth. Previous dentist sold her practice. Need to find another dentist, money and time.
B. The forces that push and pull are putting my time management system to the test. Little by little it is getting better as modifications are made daily.
C. God will need to lead me in new fund raising paths this month.
UPCOMING
i. I need better and longer times in prayer. Need to get the mind of Christ and heart of God on the many challenges I am facing. I need to be trained by the Holy Spirit in the new kinds of praying. I need to PREVAIL in prayer for the emerging ministry. I need to humble myself better. I need to call upon the name of the Lord more earnestly. A BIG part of this phase is linked to my close relationship with God.
ii. I need to just overcome my fears and start making fund raising calls.
iii. The promotional video keeps growing. It needs to be shot soon.
iv. May God quickly bring me together with the two Board of Director members.
v. I have a meeting next WED with the missions pastor of Lake Pointe Church where I have been visiting. May God give me a presentation suitable for him and other mission pastors in DFW.
IMAGES
The image for these days is like I have been in an RV for years.
I have traveled ALL over.
It has been a great adventure.
MANY lessons learned.
MANY miles lie ahead..
But the vehicle is about to breakdown.
It needs a total overhaul or preferable another vehicle.
I have been on a solo pilgrimage from the early 1980s.
THIS is the season to hook up with a Board of Directors and wise advisors.
God is bringing together the initial team.
The banker wants more green flowing into the account.
So the new team needs to plan wisely and act smartly.
FAITH LESSONS
By faith, go DIRECTLY to God in Jesus name.
Go to Your Heavenly Father in the name of His Son.
Do not wait for it to be the last resort.
Do not exhaust all your human tricks before earnest prayer.
Make it your habit to look to the Lord DAILY, even HOURLY.
By faith you can KNOW that He wants to hear from you.
God has a covenant with His adopted children, USE it.
There are promises to be claimed and stood upon, DO it.
Patience goes with FAITH, so remain steadfast in your expectancy.
