Cruise Ship

Consider a cruise ship.
Every year the ship serves thousands of customers.
In order for those people to be happy then ship must work right.
The engine room, kitchens, physical plant, navigation devices etc. function properly.
Likewise there are important operations that are almost out of sight elsewhere.
Hospitals, airports, malls, banks, churches and others have essential infrastructure.
For the last few weeks I have been examining and reorganizing the infrastructure.
My understanding is FAR better than it was two months ago.
Grappling with the diagrams has caused me to see the dynamics more clearly.
THANKS again for your many prayers.
God has answered your faith filled prayers.
I could not have come this far in my own faith.
God has been granting me the strength and courage I need to make it hour by hour.
By the grace of God a donor sponsored the mind map soft ware.
I have Power Point show with dozens of slides.
It gradually presents the central diagram.
During previous face-to-face presentations the people got glassy-eyed before the end.
But when I showed them the mind map poster they got the big picture quickly.
So tonight and the weekend I will make various mind maps.
Last night I put much of the Master List of Deliverables on a mind map.
After the directors has seen and approved this I will share it for your prayers.
TOOLS
I worked as a helper to mechanics in the late 1980s.
These men were working on the trucks that pull moving vans.
The man that had been there the longest had a very large tool cabinet on wheels.
It was taller than me.
Some times I would hand him tools while he was under the engine.
He had a few drawers each of wrenches, screwdrivers and hammers.
The newest man had all his tools in a case that was as big as a breadbox.
It feels like God has graduated me from the small to the huge toolbox.
It will take me a while to convert my many notes.
Sooner than later the mind maps will come forth.
I will post them on the web like the few that are there now.
BACKGROUND
My father graduated from Rice Institute in 1948.
He was a mechanical engineering major.
During the first few years he lead teams that got patents.
These were for things related to off shore drilling and on shore pipelines.
He later earned an MBA and got on the executive management track.
Recently I see that those kinds of strengths are in my genes.
He never sat down and taught me such things.
It is not like I assisted him in a cabinet making shop or on a dairy farm.
My passion is on how the cruise ship works behind the scenes.
I care about how the personnel will communicate and enjoy real teamwork.
HOPE
It is my hope that God will grant me much time in the ZONE.
There are a few mind maps that will greatly help with the face-to-face presentations.
I will print these out and laminate them.
The previous laminated mind maps are from 1 x 2 feet up to 3 x 5 feet.
The recently designed diagrams need to become mind maps.
I will both post these on the web site and offer the prospective donor a copy on a CD.
I believe I will be able to share these with groups using a data projector.
Those presentations can be video taped and made available on DVD and VHS.
Recently I have been sharing the new diagrams using my handy index cards.
It is delightful to see how excited various people can become.
I hope that with these new visual aids I will call on many people each week.
Their excitement and prayers will propel me to keep going.
With practice will come competence and confidence.
I know that in my mind and heart that some of the wealthy will want to give generously.
This is a wise investment into the kingdom of God.
This harnesses existing technologies and arranges them in innovative ways.
No one has done anything like this or as the Resource Guy I would have encounter it.
SOUND BITES
I know that many busy Americans on this distribution list want sound bites.
I have been making a list of them that I will share soon.

BLESSINGS
ALL glory to God in Jesus Name!

COMPLETED
· 19.25 hours last week which is more than the minimum goal of 15.
· An anonymous donor sponsored the purchase of a very important software tool. Thus I will be soon creating many more mind maps for the web and face-to-face presentations. I will be able to raise the funds to advance the ministry plus take a salary so I will pay my bills on time.
· On Monday I shared one mind map with a friend that has a missions background. In a few minutes she was able to see the many different facets of missions is a fresh and simple format. That mind map will serve as a networking hub from the ministry web site. From that porthole many will explore cyberspace and become very well oriented and edified.
· I have been going through many notes to put them into outlines so that the mind maps will be created quickly.· Thankfully there were zero bruises after the last donation of palettes. That is an answer to prayers because it had happened every time before.
· A mechanic recommended a product that has been around for many years. I put Risoline in with the oil. The engine sounds better. I feel less anxious about that part of the vehicle.
CURRENT
· Currently working on putting together three important lists.
· One is the Master List of ALL the deliverables. This list spans the short term to the long term. Most deliverables are in the coming months but some items will come from the five year plan. This will be shared and discussed with the Board of Directors. Relative priorities will be assigned.
· From this huge Master List the directors will approve a Current Concentration List. These are the projects that can presently use prayer and actions. Intercessors will be able to read the Master List to understand the Big Picture. They will be invited to focus their faith on the Current Concentration List.
· From the Current Concentration List will come This Week for John List. Those are the projects that I will FOCUS on in the short term. I will record my time on task in the Excel spread sheet.
· These lists may seem excessive. But flying by the seat of my pants for years has not worked well.
UPCOMING
· Platelets donation today, TUE 1:30 at Baylor. Carter Blood Center has many locations. I will be drinking a milk shake like suggested to address calcium challenge. I would prefer to keep this confidential but there have been complications before.
· A few times a week I have been taking a moderate walk at dusk. This is much better than zero exercise. But Monday evening I came home sweaty after a half an hour when the sun was down. I have other exercise options. May God guide me and I will tell you soon about the new direction that will need to become a habit.
· The Holy Spirit has convicted me of my need to improve my private worship with CDs at home and in the car alone. When I do this I am bountifully blessed and refreshed. But it has been infrequent.
· Not sure what the next step is for the transmission. Please pray for guidance.
· The new way of recording time invested into the ministry on the Excel spread sheet will help me to see how time as been spent to better plan for the future just like a budget does with money.
