HIT BOTTOM

I have NEVER been this poor.
I hope that this is the bottom.
God is using my bills to motivate me.
I need to move outside of my comfort zone.
I have enough visual aids to start meeting face-to-face again.
I know plenty of people to practice the presentation.
Today I looked at the long list of names for the first time in a long while.
I have felt frightened to get started.
Pray for courage and strength.
At this time the goal is just to get into motion.
When you pray believe that there will be more and more people each week.
The money come will come soon enough.
The concepts are biblically sound.
There are plenty of people that will want to give.
I just need to go tell the story.

The following materials are from an amazing book.

What follows are 8 of the 43 concepts on pages 170 to 173.
These 8 relate to the core of the emerging ministry.
Our Metroplex Vision (OMV) will need to use all of these.
This innovative ministry will be pioneering in cyberspace and physical space.
This is like establishing a colony on the Moon.
During history such pioneering ventures occurred.
Consider those who first came to the New World or the Wild West.
All the essential parts need to be present and appropriately interactive.
Kindly read over these and pray about them.
During the coming weeks and months these concepts need to be explored.
They need to be repackaged into bite size units for intercessors and advisors.
From these relatively few words the thousands of others words find their roots.
This also explains why it has been so challenging to write a mission statement.

I highly recommend this book for those going through major transitions.
It is especially useful for those grappling with major career challenges.
I have read many books about career planning and this is by far the best.
It is an interactive workbook with plenty of instructions and exercises.
The writer has a New Age worldview.
This does not need to get in the way of the rich treasures in this book.

PRAY FOR MY CAR
6-17-04
You will find pictures of my car attached.
They are offered to help focus your prayers.
This is a 1994 Ford Escort LX.
It is like a small station wagon.
God graciously provided it as a gift last year.
A friend moved overseas to study for his doctorate.
God led him to give the vehicle to me.
Otherwise I would not have been able to afford a car on my small income.
This gift was the fruit of many years of prayers by many invisible intercessors.
When I did not have a car I was able to get around on foot and bus.
I live 3 blocks from the seminary where I am employed.
Until a few months ago a grocery store was two block away.
It went out to business shortly after God provided the car.
Now I drive 5 minutes to the grocery store.
I used to walk to church.
Now it is a 12-minute drive to my home church of Mesquite Bible Church
This vehicle has allowed me to go downtown each Sunday morning for months.
I serve the homeless with SOUL Outreach ministry.
In the back of the car there are thousands of tracts and gospels of John.
I knew in my heart that when I really NEEDED a car that God would provide.
The real transportation need for the emerging ministry is about to become active.
Also I remain amazed that God has made a way to afford the auto insurance.
Praying for my car has three facets -- short, medium and long.
Short term -- may God guide to the right company and funds to fix the transmission.

Medium term -- may God keep the engine and all other parts in good working order.
The car is more than ten years old and needs grace to keep operating well.

Long term -- may God keep me safe on the roads.
During the coming weeks and months I will be going on many appointments.
I will be on the freeways and downtown districts.
I tend to drive defensively already.
Not everyone drives with care.
Not everyone that drives is sober.
I request a shield of protection around the vehicle and me.
I trust that God is sovereign over all the affairs of my life.
He has a covenant with me that He cannot break.
He will provide and protect.
He allowed me to survive a hit and run accident on my bicycle.
The doctors said it was a miracle I was alive and/or not paralyzed.
I am sure there are angels on the roads already.
It is my responsibility to increase my prayer coverage as I increase my exposure to risks.

COMPLETED
· THANK GOD for MAJOR progress on the face-to-face presentation visual aids. I had two practice presentations already. Still making important improvements. Will publish for you to see soon.
· THANKFULLY little trouble with donation of plantlets last time. I followed their recommendation and drank a milk shake before. Also I took the best calcium supplements from Whole Food. There was a little tingling in my lips. So I took Tums.
· They said to prevent bruises to keep the bandages on for six hours. This worked!
· I talked w doctor that was had given whole blood and finished just as I did. He said that normally the antigen match only occurs with family members. And that if they are calling me then the need must be great.
· I will not trouble you any more about this matter. Things seem to be under control. I will continue to donate as I can. Kindly say a faith filled prayer about all future donations.
· God has been using songs and teachings on Christian radio to speak right into my heart. I keep the radio on at home and mostly in the car. But there are many very special moments when it seems like Jesus is using to communicate with me heart to heart.
CURRENT
· At long last I have a presentation that I will be DELIGHTED to share with a stranger. It captures the core of many parts. They will want to go to the web site to learn more and keep posted as it unfolds.
· Do what it takes to get moving toward the HABIT of making face-to-face presentations.
UPCOMING
· I will begin to make my first DVD this week. A coworker who is a PhD student will be teaching how to use a complicated software program named Endnote. He will teach I will edit and put into DVD form. This will allow seminary students to go directly to the part that they need. This project has been in the works for a year and is finally coming together. This is timely because I will also be making DVD to present the ministry soon.
· I will go back and review the many names of people that I will make presentations to. The goal is 200 possibilities with 20 on the A list that I will set appointments with right away. I will go to friends for practice. And I am gathering endorsements. Then sooner than later I will take it to those who can write the big checks.
· Pray for the car to keep going. A neighbor changed the transmission fluid. It is slightly worse. I will need to take it to a shop. The cash flow is very thin. God will make a way financially.

GETTING READY
6-14-04
The next few days and weeks are CRITICAL.
The ducks have been lined up.
The plan has been sketched out.
Only a little preparation remains.
The basic mind maps for the face-to-face presentations are nearly complete.
They will be proof read, printed out and laminated.
They will be shared with you and others for prayer over the web.
Additions and improvements will be made along the way.
STARTED
An airplane uses MUCH fuel during the take off.
A train uses MUCH fuel getting started from a stop.
A bird uses MUCH energy to start flight.
Overcoming inertia is harder than continuing to cruise at an established speed.
That is the nature of the challenge I am facing.
Kindly pray for MUCH focus, strength and courage.
HEART
In my heart there are a jumble of feelings.
I feel certain that God has called me to go in this direction.
I feel like continuing in the preparation mode until it is much better.
I feel like after I get going it will be fun to share the vision and see them get excited.
REALISTIC
I need to take a realistic look at my personal finances.
I need to become realistic about the short-term financial needs of the emerging ministry.
God is using these numbers to move me out of my comfort zone.
GOALS
Soon I need to prepare an initial budget for the directors to discuss, revise and approve.
Then is will share a simple summary of the fund raising goals for your prayers.
I will keep you posted as to the progress toward the goals.
We will thank God and rejoice together as each small goal is reached.
HOPE
My hope is that I will swiftly get into the HABIT of making presentations.
I have MANY friends to practice with unto their prayers and suggestions.
Along the way I will gain competence and confidence.
I will seek out those who can make larger and larger donations.
As the intercessors knock then God will open amazing doors of opportunity.
Wealthy business owners will give generously and introduce me to their friends.
There will come a time with the 40K will have been raised.
The ministry will be able to easily afford to pay me 2K per month as a salary.
The focus will shift to designing the web platform that the mind maps outline.
VISION
After Launch Day there will be thousands all over cyberspace that will benefit.
OMV will gracefully develop ways to bring together people, resources and opportunities.
OMV will systematically facilitate better evangelism, discipleship and benevolence.
Together we will build communication bridges that will spread the truth in love.
The five services of OMV are
Networking Hub,
Information Clearing House,
Education Nucleus,
Think Tank and
R & D Lab.
DESK
A friend graciously gave me a desk this weekend.
It is U shaped and LARGE.
When I put it by my computer desk then I am surrounded by workspace.
Between the desk and computer desk is a gap wide enough to walk through.
This is WONDERFUL.
In my mind, notes and prayers I have referred to my home office the same way.
The term I use is Productivity Center.
One of my mottos is Getting God’s Job Done.
So now that will be a smoother and easier process.
Kindly pray for this furniture to be used by God for His glory.
May He guide and anoint my activity on this desk and on the computer.
