MEETING REPORT
10-22-04
THANK GOD that the dinner meeting went well yesterday.
God used the pressure of the deadline of this meeting to motivate me to complete a diagram that I named Central Diagram. I used it on the cover of the comb bound 11 page report that I left with him. He did want to read it and get back with me.
He does understand where I am coming from and where I am going. He is praying about who to connect me with among those he knows.
There was some confusion at the start of the meeting and several interruptions. God granted me peace and we got back on track quickly. I stumbled through the presentation in a bumpy way. Yet later may notes of how to do it smoother next time.
The image is that of a small child learning to ride a bicycle. Falling down is part of the learning process. Skinned knees and bruised elbows is the price that will be paid. Yet there will come a day that falls will be rare – after much practice.
God used this less than lovely event to give me a little more confidence. I now feel better about going to meet with people I do not know already. There are many who God can use a networking hubs to open doors to generous donors.
Ask Jesus Christ my Good Shepherd to lead me to both the networking contacts as well as the donors. I have been reminded of how much joy it gives t me to give money into the kingdom of God. There is a special pleasure in investing wisely into ministries. I have known that on many occasions over the years. Pray for God to remind me that this is what I am offering to others. It is not about me or even the spiritual needs that will be met but the donor walking in the joy of the Lord for a beautiful moment.

One done and three scheduled
10-20-04
Kindly indulge me for this critical season. What follows may be too detailed or trivial for you. I am sorry. There are intercessors that like this kind of report. I am learning how to do this while maintaining the confidentiality of the persons I meet.
Lord willing I will find a short and simple way to pass along this data. God will be adding more intercessors during the coming months. That means that with their agreed prayers what seems impossible today will become easy later.
It is vitally important that I get away from the computer ALL the time and actually MEET with people. That has been easy to say and tough to actually do.
I request prayers as the ice is becoming broken. After there is some steady movement then the velocity can continue and increase. By talking with MANY people face-to-face then there will be a percentage that will make donations. Those will add up and eventually the 40K goal will be reached.
Today
The meeting today at 3 o’clock went very well. Praise God for answering prayers. This key faculty member now knows about my passions and vision for ministry. He gave good input based on his decades of experience. This opened my eyes to important considerations in the future. We are on the same page - he has been seeking to provide the kind of networking that Ears to Hear will offer. He gave one very important referral.
Next week
The 2 o’clock meeting was rescheduled until next Wed at 2. That may be best. It gives me time to prepare both summaries and detailed units. This is someone who works closely with the president of the school and has access to key people I do not even know about yet.
Lead
During this afternoon God brought my path across that of two people that could lead to important referrals. One person pointed me to a web site with the contact information for a local business leader.
Introductions
I have a dinner meeting with the other person on Thursday at 5:30. I plan to give this networking contact the basic presentation. Then they will know who to introduce me to next. He has been a good friend for a long while. He knows generally about the ministry and said that he wants to introduce me to his wealthy contacts.
Friday
On Friday at 1030 I have an appointment to interview a church planter. This is a dear brother that is working with Marshall Gordon to plant a church in Tulsa. Gordon’s interview is already on the web site.
Next
There is plenty of room on my calendar for more appointments. I have not been diligent at making lists and making calls. I need to repent and bear fruits of that repentance. My fears, procrastination and laziness need to get in the back seat.

COMPLETED
· Recorded 2 more interviews that will be on the web site soon. One is a wonderful brother from the Ivory Coast. He tells his story using the first Power Point slide show on this site. The other is a brother that went with his wife on a study tour of Israel and cannot say enough about how it has blessed him, his appreciation of the Bible, his marriage and his ministry. There are a few technical hoops to jump through first.
· Promises that God has brought to life for me lately are Jeremiah 29:11,12 Psalms 91:14-16 Proverbs 3:5-6 Psalm 50:15 Psalm 40:1-3 Deuteronomy 31:6
· The key appointment today at 2 was rescheduled to next week at the same time. That is great because I was not well prepared to meet with this person.
CURRENT
· God has been using the financial pressures to keep me going to Him in humble prayer and finding much more meaning in the precious promises daily.
· As I consider meeting with business owners I know that they want me to cast the vision quickly. Parts of the script have been coming together beautifully. They also what me to leave a paper document with them that gives the summary of why this is a place to put some of the funds God has entrusted to them. This is like a spiritual business plan. SO the parts of both the script and the leave behind pages will hopefully be converted to PDF files and posted on the web site tonight. I will send a link for your prayers and comments.
· A piece that will give an overview of many pages is still in process. Pray for the completion of the short paragraph version of the Big Picture Flow Chart Parts. This will be related to a simple diagram that will also be birth tonight.
· The simple diagrams are on the brink of being made tonight.
· The summary of these summaries in a one-page document. The Holy Spirit has directed me back to a book by Patrick Riley named The One-Page Proposal. I wrote one a few years ago and this is the season to bring all the strings into a one page executive summary. When you read that –maybe tonight -you can know that it was God and not the flesh of John that did that.
UPCOMING
· May the Holy Sprit guide me to the right promises to meditate upon and to stand upon.
· May I become much more fervent in my prayers like the importunity of the widow.
· I seek to find 20 names of highly qualified prospective donors to call for appointments. When the appointment is set then the juices start to flow in me in a more purposeful way.
· There is way that God has been whispering to me that will appeal to wealthy donors. I need to get still and clearly hear this. I need to take notes that will become action steps. This is like an and entrance hall that will make all that has been done become appealing.
